The funeral arrangements for James Carley have been confirmed by his parents Dean and Louise. The service begins at 1.30pm on Friday 12th February at St Thomas of Canterbury, Brentwood CM14 4DB. Following the service, friends and family have been invited back to Orsett Hall in the Pavilion. Anyone wishing to send flowers should ensure that these reach Bennetts Funeral Directors by 11am. Their address is 120 High Street, Brentwood CM14 4AS. Alternatively, they can be sent to the family’s home address at 45 Lower Crescent, Linford SS17 0QJ by 12.30pm. James’s sister Jorjie has requested that everyone attending should not feel restricted to black and should wear a colour appropriate for James, as she herself will be doing. James, just 18, was in his first season at Canning Town but was following in the illustrious footsteps of his father Dean, who has served us for many years. Although James had only made a handful of appearances for the club, his skill and personality shone during Thursday night training sessions. Many current and ex-Town members will remember James as a young boy, however, you only have to speak to his friends or visit the facebook page created in his memory to realise what a kind, generous young man James had grown up to be. Hundreds of tributes on his page refer to James as a gentle giant who brought warmth to everyone who knew him. Whilst no words can ease the pain that Dean, Louise and Jorjie are currently suffering following this tragic loss, Canning Town Football Club can only offer its deepest sympathy during this incredibly difficult time.
